Building Permit requirements vary from town to town. Please contact your town building department prior to purchase for detailed information on codes, permits, and foundation requirements.
Please be aware that it is your responsibility to determine whether or not you will need a building permit, and to determine what the requirements are to meet local building codes or other rules that apply in your locality. You can contact your local building code authorities for such information. Laws, ordinances, regulations, restrictions, covenants, and other codes or rules that apply to sheds, storage buildings or other outdoor structures in which you may be interested in vary from state to state and from locality to locality. These codes or rules are also subject to change. Please confirm that the merchandise will meet the local building codes and regulations PRIOR TO PURCHASE.
BARREL INSULATION
Our barrels have insulation standard in our roofs. We also offer an optional insulation package available that includes insulation for the floor, and walls. However, the barrels do not need to be insulated when used only during the summer months. If planing to use the cabin for all four seasons, we recommend insulating the floor and the walls as well to make the cabin more energy efficient.
Most of the time however, the space is quite small and can easily be cooled down or heated up. We supply an electric Split A/C cooling and heating unit standard for barrels that is easy to install and does not need a lot of maintenance.

Note: Connection of the Split Air Conditioner/Heater is an additional charge and should be contracted through your local HVAC specialist.
FOUNDATION
Fat Barrel Studios and Restrooms arrive in a kit ready to be placed on your DG or Concrete Pad.

It is important that the base is steady and leveled with good ventilation. We do not recommend placing our studios or restrooms on raw undeveloped dirt. The area should be clear of debris and level. We recommend the areas as follows for each of our units:
Fat Barrel Studio 1: 15’x 15’
Fat Barrel Studio 2: 15’ x 18’
Fat Barrel Studio 3 (16'): 20' x 20'
Fat Barrel Bathroom (single): 8’ x 15’

Our showroom is located in beautiful Paso Robles, CA at 1878 Circle B Road and visits are by appointment only. You also can visit our warehouse by appointment only.

ASSEMBLY
All our barrels and bathrooms arrive ready for assembly with electrical and plumbing hook ups standard. Fat Barrel Studios is not responsible for electrical and plumbing hookups. This should be done by a licensed contractor.

ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING
Our Studios come standard with electricity and plumbing hookups with a 100 amp electrical panel and hookups for owner supplied hot and cold water connections. Water heaters and pumps are sold as an option in our drop-down pricing menus.
​A professional electrician and/or plumber is required to install connections.
Fat Barrel Studios is not responsible for hookups of Electrical and Plumbing.

Bathroom Equipment Suggestions:
Having a good portable toilet is not enough for some luxury venues or events, you have to clean and service them too! We offer optional commercial grade high quality-vacuum pumps and high-pressure washers often referred to as simply a Vacuum Pumper. These vacuum service tanks will safely remove the waste from the toilets and transfer the waste into a mobile waste tank to be picked up from your local waste disposal company. The clean fresh water is pushed out from the freshwater tank to hose down and clean the walls of the portable toilets and fill up the portable toilet tank. This is not required but is suggested. Please contact us for a quote.
All of our products are shipped from our California warehouse personally to assure complete onsite delivery without any damage. However, any special requests about delivery should be noted at the time of your order placement.
An additional option is to arrange your own pick up from our warehouse. Since the dimensions and weight vary for every model, please contact us beforehand to assure you have the proper equipment for transportation. Please note that, when arranging your own pick up, we will not be responsible for any damages to the product after the item is loaded from our warehouse.
Shipping – we are happy to provide shipping quotes on many of our products to most locations in California. *However, some exceptions apply such as shipments to remote locations and will be handled on case-by-case basis.
CANCELLATIONS & RETURNS
If you are not satisfied with our products, you may return the item in its original package within 7 days for an exchange or a refund. The 7 days begin from the day the delivery was made.
Credit will be issued after the Fat Barrel is returned and inspected.
The shipping charge for the return of the kit is deducted from the total refund. If free shipping was offered, two shipping charges, the delivery and the return, will be deducted from the total refund. To return an item, you can email or call us to receive a Return Authorization Number. There will be a 15% restocking fee on all returns. Shipments without a Return Authorization Number or assembled items will not be accepted for return. Shipments returned different from their original condition will be charged an additional 20% on return. The purchaser will be charged for any missing or damaged parts.
Your order may be cancelled before the items have been shipped from our warehouse. All cancellations may be subject to credit card processing and any additional associated fees.
A cancelation number will be issued to a cancelled order. Orders that are not canceled, or if an order is refused by the customer at delivery, it will be subject to all actual shipping fees. This also applies to orders where the customer is not at home at the time of delivery and the delivery is returned to our warehouse.
WARRANTY
All of our products come with a manufacturer’s limited 1 year warranty.
